Management of signature fields

Each signature area or signed signature field is listed in the signature fields panel as well as being displayed in the document display area. Through this panel you can select, change properties, delete or change the order of a signature area and/or a signature field.

The elements displayed in this panel can be of three different types.

Panel Buttons

Button Description
Delete the selected field / area from the document and/or memory
Change the order of the selected fields/signature area. Move up one position
Change the order of the selected fields/signature area. Move down one position
Select all signatures/signature areas in the list
Undo any selection made

Typology of signatures

Free signature areas

These are the orange areas. These areas can be resized and moved inside the document page.

Empty signature fields

These are signature fields saved in the PDF document. These fields cannot be resized and moved but only deleted, provided that the PDF is not already digitally signed.

Signed signature fields

These are the digital or graphometric signatures in PAdES format saved in the PDF document. These fields cannot be modified or deleted.

Signature properties

Each signature area or signature field is characterized by properties that describing its operation during signing.

These properties are shown in the lower right panel of the sign application window and described below.

Property Description
Field name This value must be unique for the entire document. There cannot be two signature fields and/or areas with the same name in the same document
Signature required Determines whether the signature is mandatory. The signing process does not continue if the required signature has not been signed. The indicator (!) next to the signature field indicates whether this property is set
Insert timestamp If set, sign application will add a timestamp in the specific field
Detect biometric data If set, the signing process will capture biometric data such as pressure, time and acceleration and include them as encrypted information in the PDF itself
Capture photo If configured, along with the biometric data, a photo of the signer will also be included. During the signature collection process, sign application will start the default camera and capture a photo that will be inserted alongside the other encrypted data into the document.
Pattern If set indicates the keyword that was used to generate the signature area
Description If set represents the text that will be shown in the signature acquisition window
